Kamarpukur is nestled in the district of Hoogly in West Bengal, India. This place is commonly known as the native place of Saint Sri Ramakrishnan, a great 19th-century philosopher.
Visiting time is morning – 6:00 am to 11:30 am and evening 4 pm to 9 pm. In winter 30 minutes delay and 30 minutes early opened in the morning and evening respectively. Kamarpukur is the village where Thakur’s memory is buried.
Both the Math and the Mission centres were founded in 1947. The Math centre preserves the sacred place where Sri Ramakrishna was born, as also his ancestral home.
You can take a train from Howrah to reach the Goghat station, the station after Arambagh. You can reach Jayranmbati and Kamarpukur from Goghat via a Toto or an Auto or van. It is at a distance of 6-7 km. You can also visit Jayrambati Kamarpukur via an SBSTC bus from Dharmatala.
The quaint religious village has gained popularity for being the residence of Sri Sharada Devi, spiritual partner of the revered sage Sri Ramakrishna.
