Depart Howrah for Tarakeswar
Take the Tarakeswar Local from Howrah station. Journey takes about 1.5 hours. Trains are frequent from Platform 5–8.
Tarakeswar Temple
Visit the ancient Taraknath Shiva Temple. Take a ritual bath in the Dus Ghata tank. Offer bel leaves and Ganga water to the Shivalinga. Sri Ramakrishna visited this temple multiple times.
Explore Tarakeswar
Walk through the temple town, visit the Annapurna temple and the adjacent Kali temple. Try local prasad (khichuri and mishti doi).
Depart for Kamarpukur
Hire a taxi from Tarakeswar to Kamarpukur (50 km, 1.5 hrs). Alternatively take a bus to Goghat then auto.
Arrive Kamarpukur

Hire a taxi or take bus to Arambagh then train to Kolkata. Plan to arrive at Dakshineswar by 2:00 PM.
Dakshineswar Temple Complex
Visit the Dakshineswar Kali Temple — the grand temple on the Ganges banks where Sri Ramakrishna served as priest. See the Nahabat where Holy Mother lived, the Panchavati garden, and the 12 Shiva temples.
Belur Math
Cross the Ganges by ferry or road to Belur Math — headquarters of Ramakrishna Math and Mission. Visit the main Ramakrishna Temple, Swami Vivekananda shrine, and Holy Mother's temple.
Return to Kolkata
Bus or metro from Belur Math to Kolkata. The sacred three-site circuit is complete.
