Dhani Kamarini's Temple

Southeast of Ramakrishna’s room was the house of Dhani Kamarini. Devotees have now built a temple there, featuring an oil painting of Gadadhar in Dhani’s lap. Dhani was Gadadhar’s midwife. Gadadhar had promised Dhani that he would accept his first alms from her during his sacred thread ceremony, despite it being against the family’s custom to accept alms from a non-Brahmin.
