Laha's School

The school was held in the large Natmandir in front of the Laha family’s Durga Temple. Gadadhar was admitted there at the age of five. He learned to read and write quickly but soon lost interest in formal education as a different spiritual state began to develop in him. He would often become overwhelmed by seeing specific scenes or thinking of deities. His mother thought he was ill and stopped sending him to school for a long time.
